Crab and Winkle Way is a beautiful pen and ink drawing of the iconic 7.6-mile (12.2 km) cycle path and walking trail that links the city of Canterbury with the seaside town of Whitstable in Kent, England. It follows the former Canterbury and Whitstable Railway, which closed in 1952.

The view featured in this colour pen and ink drawing is from the end of the cycle path which faces the shoreline in Whitstable and is just before dusk. The drawing captures the peaceful atmosphere of the evening, with the soft light of the setting sun casting a warm glow over the scene.

This drawing is a perfect way to bring a touch of Whitstable into your home. It is also a great gift for anyone who loves the seaside or who has a special connection to Whitstable.

After extensive research and testing, I have selected the Hahnemuhle German Etching (310gsm) Fine Paper. A heavy-duty paper with a textured finish, a velvety matt surface, and a warm white hue — I believe it reproduces my drawings superbly.

Each giclee art print features the original drawing, which has undergone a meticulous process to capture the detail with the utmost accuracy paying close attention to the texture, details and ink work.

I have personally remastered each drawing digitally to remove the fold from my 2020 sketchbook to give you the best possible view of the original pen and ink drawing.

My original notebook (#1) was cartridge paper in portrait format resulting in the square format. Each page from this notebook had an array of faint grey dots removed carefully from the art print for a better view of the original drawing.
