A5 Monotone Postcard featuring Reculver hand-drawn in pen and ink.

This A5 postcard is a miniature version of my original pen and ink drawing of Reculver, a landscape that holds a special place in my heart. It's part of a series capturing the unique beauty and heritage of the North Kent Coast and Thames Estuary

    Pen & Ink Drawing (#30)
From my first sketchbook (2020) featuring a pen and ink sketch of the iconic Reculver Roman Fort.

Built in the 3rd century AD as part of a Roman fort, these twin towers originally served as a landmark for navigators and a stronghold against Saxon raiders.  They have witnessed the ebb and flow of history, enduring the ravages of time and the elements.

Over the centuries, the towers have taken on a mythical aura, inspiring countless artists and writers. Their stark beauty and haunting presence evoke a sense of awe and wonder, transporting us to a bygone era.

Perched atop the windswept cliffs of Reculver in Kent, the iconic Roman Towers stand as silent sentinels, their silhouettes etched against the vast North Sea.  This pen and ink drawing captures their timeless elegance, their weathered stones whispering tales of centuries past.
