In centuries past, Faversham thrived as a bustling port town, and Hollowshore played a pivotal role in its maritime heritage. The creek's sheltered waters provided a natural harbour for ships, and skilled shipwrights plied their trade along its banks. The Shipwrights Arms, a historic pub overlooking Hollowshore, stands as a testament to this shipbuilding legacy, offering a warm welcome to weary travellers and locals seeking refreshment.
Tidal Rhythms and Coastal Charms
The ebb and flow of the tides shapes Hollowshore's character. At high tide, the creek fills with water, creating a picturesque scene of boats bobbing gently on the surface. As the tide recedes, the creek reveals its muddy banks, dotted with fascinating marine life and the remnants of centuries-old shipwrecks. My drawing beautifully captures this unique tidal landscape, depicting a boat moored at low tide.
Folklore and Legends
Hollowshore has also inspired a wealth of folklore and legends. Some say that the creek is haunted by the ghosts of shipwrecked sailors, their spectral figures appearing on misty nights. Others tell tales of smugglers using the creek's hidden coves to conceal their illicit cargo. These stories add an air of mystery and intrigue to Hollowshore's timeless charm.

After extensive research and testing, I have selected the Hahnemuhle German Etching (310gsm) Fine Paper. A heavy-duty paper with a textured finish, a velvety matt surface, and a warm white hue — I believe it reproduces my drawings superbly.
Each giclee art print features the original drawing, which has undergone a meticulous process to capture the detail with the utmost accuracy paying close attention to the texture, details and ink work.
I have personally remastered each drawing digitally to remove the fold from my 2020 sketchbook to give you the best possible view of the original pen and ink drawing.
My original notebook (#1) was cartridge paper in portrait format resulting in the square format. Each page from this notebook had an array of faint grey dots removed carefully from the art print for a better view of the original drawing.
