Reculver Bike Ride Black&White (Limited Edition)

This drawing is based on a family bike ride between Reculver and Birchilington in Kent. Reculver is a historic Roman fort and Saxon monastery located on the coast of Kent. It is a popular spot for walkers, cyclists, and birdwatchers. The fort and monastery ruins are set against wild coastal scenery, making it a truly unique and atmospheric place to visit.

Looking closely, you will spot my daughter cycling up the steep incline with a full winter coat. This, combined with the contrasting colder tones, helps convey the temperature of clear and crisp day on a coastal path, which is extra brisky.

This art print is perfect for any room, from the living room to the bedroom. It is also an excellent gift for anyone who loves art, history, or the Kent coast.

After extensive research and testing, I have selected the Hahnemuhle German Etching (310gsm) Fine Paper. A heavy-duty paper with a textured finish, a velvety matt surface, and a warm white hue — I believe it reproduces my drawings superbly.

Each giclee art print features the original drawing, which has undergone a meticulous process to capture the detail with the utmost accuracy paying close attention to the texture, details and ink work.

I have personally remastered each drawing digitally to remove the fold from my 2020 sketchbook to give you the best possible view of the original pen and ink drawing.

My original notebook (#1) was cartridge paper in portrait format resulting in the square format. Each page from this notebook had an array of faint grey dots removed carefully from the art print for a better view of the original drawing.
